COVID-19 MEASURES AT

TABONE ACADEMY OF MUSIC

STAY UNITED

As we navigate into a world of uncertainty, it is important for us to remember why we started Tabone Academy of Music in the first place. Music has the unique ability of being something so personal, yet can bring strangers together in an extremely special way. During these stressful times, it is important to focus on things that elevate our mood. We understand the necessary precautions that have been put in place to ensure the safety of our students, parents, teachers and staff. With the help of one another, we can continue to spread the joy of music in the wonderful Hamilton community!

WHY MUSIC?

When students begin school this fall, it's no doubt that things are going to be differentPeople aren't sure what extra-curriculars and sports will look like this school year. That being said, students and children need to stay engaged. Music lessons are an excellent and safe way for children to feel some sort of normalcy during these stressful and uncertain times. Spotify has released a new study which states that playing a musical instrument boosts mental health in 89% of students. Taking up an instrument is a great way to get your mind off of the current state of the world while focusing on learning a new beneficial skill!

SOO...what are we going to do?

ENHANCED SAFETY MEASURES

Our number one priority is the health + safety of our students, teachers, and staff members. Since we began working towards opening TAM in the middle of the pandemic, we were lucky because we were able to take into account the government's recommended health measures during the very first step of planning our layout of the facility. We are also lucky because our facilities are over +3,000 square feet with 7 private classrooms. Please refer to the next section to see specifically what we will be enforcing at TAM!

RULES + REGULATIONS

  • Hand sanitizer stations upon entry to the main building and every individual classroom.

  • We will be enforcing Hamilton's mandatory mask bylaw. This includes parents, students and teachers.

  • Complete sanitization of rooms and instruments between private lessons.

  • Maintaining social distance between café tables and one another.

  • Each room comes equipped with TWO sets of instruments so sharing is not required between teachers and students.

  • We will be screening students with a set of COVID related questions as they enter the facilities.

  • If students and teachers are sick, they must not attend their lessons!
